Individualized Care for Performance Dogs

With a background in diverse clinical settings, I’ve found that working independently allows me to give each performance dog the time and tailored care they truly need. Every session is customized to support optimal function, recovery, and long-term success in their sport.

I collaborate with a trusted network of specialists—including orthopedic surgeons, rehab therapists, and other veterinary professionals—to ensure a comprehensive approach to care. Most importantly, I view you—the owner—as a key part of the team. Your involvement is essential to keeping your dog healthy, sound, and performing at their best.

Therapeutic Modalities

Canine Biomechanics Assessment

Every dog is assessed for structural and movement asymmetries that may impact performance or cause discomfort. These imbalances can result from primary injuries or compensation patterns and may lead to pain, lameness, or decreased performance.

A biomechanics assessment is included with all initial chiropractic exams and sports massage sessions. A focused version is also part of every follow-up visit.

SWIT Neurobalance

SWIT® Neurobalance for Dogs is a non-invasive, frequency-based system created to accompany daily routines. Unlike traditional magnetic field therapy, which often emphasizes microcirculation and metabolism through stronger stimulation, SWIT® Neurobalance for Dogs works with subtle, EEG-inspired signals. These impulses are designed to integrate seamlessly into everyday life as a modern, frequency-oriented alternative—without medication or invasive methods.

Trigger Point Massage

Trigger point massage is a targeted form of bodywork that focuses on relieving localized muscle knots, known as trigger points, which can cause pain, stiffness, and restricted movement in dogs. Trigger point massage helps relieve muscle pain, improve mobility, restore normal movement, and enhance overall comfort and behavior by releasing tight muscle knots, improving circulation, and reducing compensatory strain — leading to a happier, more relaxed, and better-balanced canine.

Laser Therapy

Low-level laser therapy helps reduce pain and inflammation while supporting tissue healing at the cellular level. Using red and infrared light, LLLT stimulates circulation, boosts cellular energy, and promotes regeneration and collagen production.

This non-invasive therapy is especially useful for injuries, post-performance recovery, and chronic pain. A series of treatments may be recommended for best results.

PEMF

PEMF delivers pulsed electromagnetic fields (i.e. time-varying magnetic fields) into tissues. These magnetic pulses induce small electrical currents in cells (due to Faraday’s law), which can influence cell signaling, ion exchange, and membrane potentials. Because magnetic fields can penetrate tissues noninvasively, PEMF can reach deep tissues (bones, joints, muscles) without direct contact.

In human and animal research, PEMF has been explored for bone healing, soft tissue repair, inflammation modulation, and modulation of nerve function.

Myofacial Massage

Myofascial massage is a specialized form of soft tissue therapy that focuses on the fascia — the thin, elastic connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, and organs throughout a dog’s body. Myofascial massage helps release muscle tension, improve flexibility, enhance circulation, and reduce pain, promoting better movement, faster recovery, and overall physical and emotional well-being.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the spine and nervous system, both of which are vital to your dog’s movement, coordination, and overall health. Restrictions in spinal or joint mobility—known as vertebral subluxation complexes (VSCs)—can disrupt nerve function, leading to pain, lameness, or reduced performance.

Through precise, gentle adjustments, chiropractic restores normal joint motion and helps “reboot” the nervous system. This supports your dog’s natural healing ability and enhances their ability to move and perform at their best.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture stimulates specific points on the body to promote healing, balance, and pain relief. These points lie along meridians that correspond with the flow of Qi, or energy, and are rich in nerve endings, blood vessels, and lymphatics.

Scientific research shows that acupuncture activates the release of natural pain-relievers like endorphins and serotonin, helping to reduce inflammation and support overall wellness.

Benefits include pain relief, improved mobility, immune support, hormonal regulation, and enhanced circulation.

Chinese Herbs

Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) is a core component of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), used to restore balance and support the body’s natural healing processes. Rooted in thousands of years of practice, modern CHM combines ancient wisdom with clinical research.

Herbal formulas are selected based on a TCVM diagnosis and customized to address issues such as pain, inflammation, digestive disorders, skin problems, respiratory conditions, and performance support. Each herb is chosen for its unique energetic properties, taste, and targeted effects within the body.
